I’m in 5th grade. I’m living with my dad and I don’t have many friend at my french imersion school. I did end up making some great friends. They were Sweedish and a tad older then me, but oh my! did I love them! Ulf Ekberg (Buddha), Jonas Berggren (Joker), Jenny Berggren and Malin “Linn” Berggren AKA Ace of Base played on repeat in my room, my livingroom, my dad’s car and my beautiful yellow walkmen (R.I.P) for at least 6 months. 16 years later, it’s still nothing short of amazing. Well the old stuff is anyways…

The apple picking season has arrived, I am now wearing a sweater to go
out and it is already the time of the year for the POP Montreal
festival. With more than 300 performances in 5 days, it is the perfect
opportunity to discover new bands. Last year, I saw Passion Pit (while
they were only famous on the blogosphere) and it was one of the best
concerts I have seen in 2008. See you there!

I recently discovered this UK band. I’m a tad late but better late then never, no? Their album “Ribbed Music For The Numb Generation” came out back in 2007 and their songs have appeared in shows like Gossip Girl. I heard the track “Bang Bang Bang Bang” while watching a video on the ELLE UK magazine’s webTV. It’s the perfect mix of electro-pop with a little bit of a rock twist. Kind of reminds us of this season’s fashion inspiration! Good stuff.

In 2004. I’d just arrived in Australia. Life was ahead of me, and this song too. My head is filled with dreams and desires. I listen to this song while perfecting my tan on the beach while working at surf camp. It’s truly magical. 5 years later, it’s just as magical, even with lyrics like ”I got a fat sack and a superfly chick”.

Last October, Me and 10 of my closest friends went on a trip to New York City. We had a pretty ghetto appartement waiting for us and no other plans besides going to the Banksy exhibit and see La Caution’s show. During that trip, my friend Baz had Rich Girls from The Virgins on repeat.. Only to keep doing so on his way back, which is when i fell in love. With the song. And now, Little Boots has done a pretty great cover of the said song.. enjoy!

Spike Goes West

We were once fairytale is the title of the new 12 minutes short film by Spike Jones featuring Kanye West. The famous rapper plays a caricatured, pregnant (with a demon) and hallucinatory version of himself. I wonder how that’s going to turn out.

But, if I based my self on their last collaboration for the flashing lights videoclip, it should be great!
